We took a family trip to the Museum of London today…it was a really cold and chilly day and cramped on the central line due to most of the other lines closed for refurbishment work.

However we got there in the end and had a good look around. Faith-Lee really enjoyed it especially looking around the roman section.

We all had a go at dressing up in some medieval clothing, even though it might not of fitted us (Julia and Me that is).

One of the other sections was about the great fire of London and Faith-Lee had a chance to try on a fireman’s helmet then and now and feeling the difference.

Zac had a good time, he had a good look around, was getting excited and giggling / screaming and kicking and jumping about…I wonder if the Museum of London could be his favourite museum?

We had our picnic in the foyer of the museum where there were seats and tables but was told to move to the picnic area by the Manger of the museum…oops!

Faith-Lee was happy to see a book that had been signed by Charlie Chaplin, she couldn’t get over that fact that he had signed this book and drawn a picture of himself.

I have been to the museum when I was perhaps around Faith-Lee’s age she is now. I must admit I can’t remember too much about it except the Lord Mayors gold carriage.

Anyway fun was had by all on the day!

Myself and Faith-Lee went to the Natural History Museum yesterday, and also went to see the ship in the giant glass bottle in Trafalgar Square.

We had booked some tickets to go into the Butterfly exhibit where saw lots of colourful butterflies flying around and a few caterpillars crunching and crawling on leaves. Through the exhibit Faith-Lee had a passport where she could go round and stamp it with stamps around the butterfly tent.

When we had finished in there we had a long old look around the museum and went into the new Darwin Centre and had a look at the insects and plants on show.

We had a picnic outside on the grass which was nice but did wonder whether the weather was going to hold because it did go cloudy a few times.

Once we had done in the museum we made our way to Trafalgar Square and looked for the ship in the giant glass bottle and took some photos. We also saw lord Nelson.

Myself and Faith-Lee took a trip into London and visited the Science Museum. We went a couple of years ago when Faith-Lee was around 2-3 years old and obviously a little young to remember and appreciate it.

Today she did enjoy it but there were a few things that was a little boring for her. We had a look around the space and rockets section where a lady gave a talk about stars and planets, rockets and the first people on the moon.

Faith-Lee was chosen to come to the front and hold up one of the 9 planets thats in our solar system – which was Pluto. The lady talking was really good and managed to keep the kids in the audience interested, especially when the words wee-wee and poo were mentioned…she was of course talking about how the astronauts go to the toilet!

After that we took a look around the museum at the various areas like the first steam train which was Puffing Billy

One place Faith-Lee did enjoy was the Launch Pad situated on the 4th Floor of the museum, this area had lots of things for children to play / experiment with. This includes things like how sound travels, magnets and water and light…in the end I had to drag Faith-Lee out because she was enjoying herself so much.

Once we had finished in there we took a look in the shop and Faith-Lee in the end bought one of those wiggly worm that have been on the go for years…I remember having a number of them over a period of time when I was a kid…you will remember them they had the invisible nylon string on the end that you used to pull it out of drinking glasses or around pencils and the adverts make it look like they actually move on their own but they don’t!

But to be fair to Faith-Lee she has certainly had her monies worth out of it already today and it has a name of Nina.
