Just uploaded photos of Jason and Natalie’s wedding day. We had a really wonderful time and Faith-Lee really enjoyed herself – being a bridesmaid and playing with her cousins all night long, we didn’t really see her because she was off playing!

Here are the photos I took with my camera, and hoping to get the photos Julia took uploaded soon. We love the photo I got of little Theo with a bottle of J2O!

We went to Sutton-On-Sea yesterday in Lincolnshire, it was all of us: Julia, Faith-Lee, Mum, Dad, Maureen and Harry. It was a hot day (around 28C) but windy…really windy.

We got settled down on the beach with the wind breakers up but they didn’t really help. At some points we felt with the wind blowing so hard we were being sand blasted which stung us.

Myself and Faith-Lee went down to the sea and did a bit of paddling and found a lot of shells! We bought a large soft frisbee which I thought would be soft if it hit anyone by accident and a pink glittery football. Unfortunately the games didn’t last because it was so windy.

We got a wind breaker tent to hide in and did stop the wind but had to weight it down so that it didn’t take off.

You can see Julia is taking full use of the new wind breaker tent and Faith-Lee in eating her chocolate mousse.

Faith-Lee wanted to dig a hole so I dug and dug and dug until it was deep enough for her to sit in and I filled it in – she found that amusing.

We shortly left after this because it was windy and sand was getting into everything, but it was a lovely day out and nice to have hot weather for a change!

Today we went to Lincoln castle and they had an event running there, where they had people dressed up as Norman people showing the way of life back in those days.

It had people dressed as knights, cooks, musician and even people showing how they made cotton and weaving.

Faith-Lee really enjoyed it and she had a go with a sword and even clashed with a knight and his sword!

After talking to the people there we had a look around the castle itself and in it there is the old Lincoln prison. We were able to take a look inside a cell and even take a look at the old chapel where the prisoners would go.

Once done in the prison we watched a display of two knights having a sword fight which was fun to see!

While the knights were battling Faith-Lee enjoyed a picnic at the table with her Grandad while watching…

We then took a walk around the wall of the castle which and Faith-Lee enjoyed it but all the way around we were holding tight onto her because it was so high up! We did manage to make it to the highest tower which was high and we didn’t stay up there too long!

Walking around the wall we saw some lovely sights and one of them being the Lincoln Cathedral…

Overall Faith-Lee really enjoyed herself just like when we went to Doddington Hall – I think we may have our own little Historian in the future.

We took a visit to Doddington Hall today – its one of those places that I had always heard off since I was a child but had never been to or even seen it.

We took a look around the House and the Garden (which was in full flower). Faith-Lee didn’t want to come at first but black mailed her into coming if we got her something from the shop there.

We got to the hall around 12 noon and the house didn’t open until 1pm so we took a look around the garden first. It has the usual cut lawn thats as straight / level as anything and flowers and plants that your parents and grandparents would die for! However it is a lovely garden.

They also had something for the kids to do in the vegetable / fruit garden. This was basically a map of the vegetable and fruit garden and they had to find on the map where particular veg and fruit were and stick a picture on the map. While doing this the kids are given a pot to search for a bug and today it was looking for Ladybirds and Ladybird Lavae.

Faith-Lee really enjoyed this and managed to find the fruit and veg herself and you could see she was really pleased with herself when doing it.

She managed to find a couple of Ladybirds, the usual red and black spotted ones and even one yellow and black Ladybird.

There was even a baby caterpillar that was put into the pot.

When the Ladybirds were identified it was time to crush some herbs and see what they smelled like and the lady there explained what herbs were used for in the Tudor days and how it help preserve the meat.

We then took a look around the rest of the garden and saw the Iris’s which they had planted and they looked lovely.

We also spotted a very large wasp (it was almost 2-3 times larger than a regular wasp) but we are not quite sure what it is. Can you identify it?

There was a mini maze to have a go out and myself and Faith-Lee managed to find our way to the centre of it and also find our way out of it.

Once we had looked around the garden we decided to have a bit of a picnic back at the car and go back to take a look at the house then.

We had a look around the house and Julia had one of those handsets that tells you all about that particular room you are in while I helped Faith-Lee do an activity sheet were she had to find certain objects in the house and on each level of the house she finished all the rooms she got a stamp and she could collect a small goody bag as a prize. So as you can imagine this kept her occupied and she really enjoyed it!

We arrived today at Lincoln to see Mum and Dad at theirs in Nettleham. When we arrived we sat in the back garden for a couple of hours before heading out into town to do a bit of shopping and then headed back.

Myself and Faith-Lee played catch and a little bit of football. Before playing an outdoors Snakes and Ladders…

As the day went it turned from muggy cloudy weather to really nice sunny and hot and we decided to have dinner out there.

Then there was more catching and football with Faith-Lee until it started to go dark. Also little Mrs didn’t leave her scooter and bike alone all day when she had a chance to get on it – so she pretty much was on the go all day and she sure slept when her little head hit the pillow.

We are hoping to go to Doddington Hall tomorrow and see the gardens and the house (Hall). Keep you posted…

Cheers from Julia!
