It made it an extra special day by having both Faith-Lee and Zachary there and I had both of them helping me unwrap my presents!  Zach hasn’t even had a birthday yet, but he knows what to do!

Any how had a wonderful day and enjoyed having the family over and making it a special day!

We had a lovely time and lots of fun kicking balloons, hearing Faith-Lee singing us songs and having Zac at his Mummy’s birthday.

We had lots of food, anything from chicken, ham, mini burgers and hot dogs in rolls.  As usual the food went down a treat, but always seem to cook more than we need – but always finish it off later that day.

Julia opened her presents and got some really nice ones, like jewellery, clothing and other presents.

We had a number of family photos taken as you can see in the gallery and Granddad Harry was trying to make Zac smile / laugh but to no avail!

I wanted to make Julia a birthday cake for her birthday and decorate it.  Mum helped out by making the cake and then I decorated it – I cut it into a butterfly shape, iced it and was very pleased with the result.  However now that I have done this Faith-Lee wants a cake and I think she will expect wonders from me for creating her one.    So I think time will tell to see how well I get on and hope I live up to her expectations!  Take a look at Julia’s cake I decorated, alright I no I am not going to win any awards for it but I am quite pleased with myself at what I did!

Anyway Julia blew out the candles, and used some candles that burn colours rather than the usual fire colour.  So for example a blue candle burned blue and a green candle burned green, etc.

We had a bit of a Halloween party today.  For the first time we thought we would have a go at carving out a pumpkin and light it by putting a candle inside of it.  As you can see by the picture here the design we thought we would use – looks scary! 

We got the design from the web and pinned it to the pumpkin and used pins to prick out the shape but we struggled to find the outline when the paper was taken off.  We should have used something a bit bigger to make the outline show up more.  So at least we know what to do for next year. 

Once we had marked it and could see where the marks were we cut the top off and started to scope out the pumpkin – yuk!  Once scooped out I started to cut the face out and once done we put a candle in the pumpkin and this is what it looked like:

Not bad for a first attempt!

Faith-Lee, Zac and Julia dressed up into their Halloween outfits and got into the swing of things.  Faith-Lee was a witch, Zac a little pumpkin and Julia was dressed as a witch also.

We then started to decorate the room with some fake cobwebs and spiders and made a monsters lunch which included Monster Munch crisps. 

We watched a few horror / ghost movies on TV and had a great time.

I think we must have cut out around 20 odd give or take.  Once they were cut out and baked we let them cool down and Faith-Lee started to decorate them with the icing…I had a go as well as Julia decorating! 

Faith-Lee had decorated a gingerbread man for the Lollipop man who helps Faith-Lee and Julia across the road everyday when its school time, which he was really happy about and said he had with a cup-of-tea.

They have been disappearing quickly so looks like we may be making more some time soon! 

We got there and had a really good time – especially Julia when she found Lollipoppet Castle, she started to run around like a 5 year old!
